This 1957 Casa Manana mobile home is an excellent piece of history! The Henslee Company, out of Arlington, Texas built this 36′ long and 8′ wide 2 bedroom 1 bath mobile home.
The Henslee Company began building mobile homes around 1954. Atlas Mobile Home Directory states in 1955 a 27′ Casa Mobile Home sold for $2,395.00. The 33′ was $2,995.00, and the 36′ was a cool $3,195.00.
This Casa Manana is as solid as it was the day it was built 60 years ago. Before the policy of planned-obsolescence, this "Home for the Future" was a competitor to Airstream that's sales appeal was that it would be a ONETIME purchase to last FOREVER. These type of mobile homes of the era were built with the highest quality materials to stand the test of time, including real wood; no particle board found here!
This 1957 Casa Manana mobile home has only had two owners and was kept untouched and in storage for about 50 years.
Like most vintage mobile homes, the Casa needed a few updates and upgrades. After careful planning and consideration, a restoration was done to enhance the look of the trailer while giving it a few modern updates. For example, the electric and plumbing systems were upgraded with new lines, water heater, and toilets but the original porcelain sinks, bathtub, shower, faucets and PINK STOVE remain original!
The owners were careful to install the new modern appliances (microwave, stove, and refrigerator) in the original pink finish. New floor tile that matches the original back splash and new Birchwood ceiling and wall skins were also painstakingly installed. Additionally, the roof was very recently professionally restored at a premium.
The beautiful birch interior is always a favorite with vintage trailer fans!
For the passionate owner who appreciates and wants to share the appeal of this monumental era and values preserving its fingerprint. This cozy gem can be utilized as an inexpensive second home that can easily be relocated anywhere for vacation stay, extended family or immediate passive income.
This movable asset is a great investment that increases in value.
One lucky vintage fan will soon be the new owner of this 1957 Casa Manana mobile home! :-)
