cats are OK - purrr
no private bath
room not private

we (david, annie, &; our small cat momo) are starting a vegan/freegan housing co-op in Asheville, NC & are seeking 7 to 12 folks that would be interested in becoming members! (i.e., folks that think co-habitating a 3 or 4 bedroom // 1.5 / 2 bathroom house in Asheville, NC, cooking vegan, diverting the waste-stream, & being kinda punk, would be cool!); MOVE-IN WILL BE September 1st.

members would have a responsibilty to pay for their share of rent & utilities (between $150 & $300), a $75 monthly membership fee (which will be used for purchasing communal VEGAN kitchen staples, funding house projects, & paying to fix things, as needed). decision making in a day to day capacity will be do-acratic / anarchist; for bigger things, that affect the whole co-op, decisions will be made in non-hierarchical, consensus-based house meetings;; members will also have an as of yet indeterminate amount of responsibility for the preparation / clean-up of shared, family-style meals (imagine: cooking supper with a friend or two for all your other friends, like once or twice every couple weeks). members should plan to either have a roommate OR expect to pay more for rent; more roommates = less rent!

DISCLAIMER!!: You DO NOT have to be vegan, freegan, queer, punk, freaky, weird, etc to become a member--(though, if you aren't vegan, you will be responsible for procuring your own non-vegan foodies, & for making sure that you prepare/consume those foodies in a way that is respectful of your friendly neighborhood vegans!)--

if you're interested in membership, You DO need to have an earnest desire to participate in community living by sharing in the responsibilities of running a co-operative (like keeping common areas clean, taking part in consensus decision making, helping either prepare or clean-up after communal meals, probably cleaning the bathroom sometimes, etc) & you probably SHOULD want to live ethically, conscientiously, & with the intent of minimizing harm to the world & the people & creaturlings on it!). Unfortunately: WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE DOGS

this is us: david & annie both spent the past year (give or take a few months) living/working in community in a middle school boarding house (3 adults, 4 middle schoolers) & are no strangers to the generative/mildly chaotic business of cohabitation. they have extensive experience cooking for a crowd, cleaning up other people's messes, playing unreasonably complicated board games, &, when the need is dire, knowing how to crack open a can of pure, unadulterated chill.

david saulsbury (he/him/his aged 23) is excited by: radical community living, urban farming, beekeeping, composting toilets, stick&poke tattoos

annie livingston (she/her/hers or they/them/theirs aged 23) is excited by: poetry, radical softness, tomatoes, alternative education, zines, environmentalism, queerness

Momo, cat, is excited by: bugs, pepperoni, &; attention

if you are interested, please contact us ASAP. we will schedule a video-chat (via GoogleHangouts or gmail) to meet&greet, ask/answer questions, &, generally, see if we vibe.

ALSO: contact us if you just wanna be FRIENDS!
