Don't know if craigslist is still a viable option for musicians seeking musicians in Ashville but I will throw a line out there.

I'll try to break down what I'm looking for in a player(s) and see if it hits a nerve.
I want a player(s) who is looking to explore playing, arranging, nontraditional instrument combos and blurring the lines of what's normal. Walking the line between soul and avante-garde.
Duos, Trios: Think acoustic jazz/classical/world (primarily brazilian/afro-cuban)

I like playing with pretty much any instrument in an orchestra.
I'm not saying play music where people can't tell whether it's jazz, classical, world or new age mish mash.
I DON'T want to perform well worn tunes, aka jazz standards or standards of any genre unless we really
make it a unique piece.

Second, I want a players who will be willing to rehearse/play consistently to progress rapidly.
I want to perform with mixtures of arrangements and improvisation.

About Myself: I have been studying and performing for longer than I need to say.
I have played in R&B, Jazz, Choro, Classical and Fusion ensembles.
I have lots of tunes recorded in some fashion so if you make it to the interested stage, we can share.

Tell me what you play and what you are interested in playing.
Thanks for your patience if you made it through.

My ideal first step: You: Hey man, I am interested, I play (insert instrument here).
Me: Sounds good, here are some types of tunes I would like to do. Do you have any pieces you
want to tackle?
You: Ok, I know some of those. Here are some that I really like playing.
Me: Great, how 'bout we pick 5 tunes and get together when ready and try them out?
You: That sounds like an efficient way to start, if we work out 5 tunes a week or so, we could
really get a good set list going fast.
Me: Sooner we get the list tight, sooner we can start performing out.
And so on....
