2024 Squier Esquire with custom control plate and wiring. I purchased it new in 2025. This is a senior-owned guitar that never left a smoke-free, climate-controlled home. Near mint. There are no scratches or dents. Tuning stability and intonation is excellent. Great sustain. Weighs 7.5 lbs.
This started as a new Affinity Series SH FMT Telecaster. The neck humbucker was muddy and detracted from the overall tone of this guitar. The HB was removed and a new Esquire pickguard, with matching control plate replaced the old ones. The tone pot received an upgraded capacitor and a treble bleed circuit was added to the volume control, all using the high quality components. In essence this is a switchless Esquire, with enough bite to cut through any mix. The .05 Orange drop tone cap can roll off the treble to get tone from spanking twang to wooly dark tones and everything in between.
To finish off the aesthetics, a pair of lacquered, custom-turned, solid cherry knobs dress the control plate to add a little something special to the appearance and complement the attractive flame maple top.
The result: a great player with a comfortable neck, good sustain and classic Tele tone.
