King Eastlake Silver Flair Trumpet, Don Eisaman Collection - $550 (Asheville)

condition: good
make / manufacturer: King
model name / number: Eastlake Silver Flair

Hello, this is a King Eastlake Silver Flair trumpet. All slides and valves are in great working order. There are a few other cosmetically rough spots but It truly is a wonderfully playing horn. It comes with a Protect case.
I am helping sell Don's horn collection in conjunction with Dr. John Entzi with proceeds going to assist Don's widow, Jane Eisaman. I will also be posting other horns which include Calicchio, King, Couesnon and others. Thanks for looking! Blessings!

This horn was owned by professional trumpeter Don Eisaman aka Edwards.
Don studied at the Cincinnati Conservatory and toured with many name bands during the Big Band era. He played fifteen years in Vegas performing with artists that included Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis, Jr., Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Peggy Lee, Mel Torme, among others. Don also performed with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra on the Nat King
Cole Show on NBC TV, and later served as a member of the Rat Pack band that made the original movie version of “Oceans Eleven. In Memphis he became first call trumpet at Pepper-Tanner Studio, making jingles and t.v. commercials. While there, he played lead on the “Shaft” album with Isaac Hayes at Stax Records and was a member with the Memphis Symphony. Settling in the Carolinas, Don started the stage band at Furman University in Greenville, SC and later became the first call trumpet for the
largest music contractor in Charlotte. He taught privately and conducted clinics in colleges and high schools in North and South Carolina. Don had his own big band called Ovations along with his jazz combo called Added Touch. He also toured and did outreach programs with his nationally known Dixieland band called the Southern Fried Jazz Band.
