This is a players grade professional model Contreras (NOT the Estudio Model). I am pricing it so low because of it being a players grade guitar. These guitars used normally bring $2500 - $3000. It has a seam seperation that has an amateur glue job done and a couple of other small cracks. You can have your luthier repair it correctly or I can give you my luthier contact for a bid/quote. I'm guessing around $300 - $400 to make it great again. I have several high end classicals or I would have it done myself and keep it. AND still may. It should be worth $2500 when repaired correctly.
This is a transistion era guitar. 1970 was the first year Brazilian Rosewood was banned by Brazil. This one has a Brazilian Rosewood headstock and bridge. The original Schaller goldtone tuners still offered flathead screws that later changed to phillips screws. It does have phillips small goldtone mounting screws, but flathead gear screws. These are items collectors look for. In short you will have a highly sought after collectors guitar that you can play and it sounds like a cannon from being played! Comes with it's original hardshell case that is very worn, but serviceable. All solid woods, of course. Made in Madrid with the true Spanish heel construction. It has been serviced, oiled the ebony fretboard, polished the frets and installed new normal tension strings.
This is one of the lowest priced Contreras' in the country that can be played right now as it is.
