Position: Groundskeeper / Farm Manager

Location: Marion, NC (onsite housing available)
Start Date: March 1–15, 2026
Salary: $50,000–$65,000 per year (depending on experience)
Contract: Minimum 1-year commitment with a 3-month trial period
About the Role
We’re seeking a dedicated and experienced Groundskeeper / Farm Manager to help steward our land and bring our vision of environmentally sustainable, regenerative food production to life. The ideal candidate will have both hands-on agricultural skills and an entrepreneurial mindset—ready to lead new projects, contribute ideas, and grow with our mission of reciprocity with the land and community.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the orchard, perennial gardens, and general grounds
Care for farm animals (starting with ducks, chickens, and goats)
Oversee and perform land upkeep, irrigation, and seasonal maintenance
Coordinate a shared daily task list for seamless communication and teamwork
Assist with or lead small building, repair, and carpentry projects
Implement regenerative and holistic land practices
Collaborate closely with property owners to plan and execute sustainable systems
Qualifications
Expertise required in either animal husbandry or horticulture; experience in both is preferred
Proven experience in orchard, garden, or farm management
Knowledge of animal care and sustainable agricultural practices
Strong communication and organization skills
Basic carpentry or building experience
Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
Willingness to learn and problem-solve—honesty and openness valued over perfection
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $50,000–$65,000 (based on experience)
Paid Vacation: 2 months per year (no more than 1 month consecutively)
Paid Sick Leave: 10 days annually
Work Schedule: 30–40 hours per week (average closer to 30)
Housing: Optional free onsite tiny house with full amenities (kitchen, bathroom, washer/dryer, etc.)
