Made in Taiwan. Heavy, thick aluminum. Patent number is on it but no name nor name tag. Most likely was a paper tag that fell off.
Used to hold down a tomato or egg or anything else you want to cut uniform slices using a knife through the tines on this item. Photos show you how it is done.
Although it is vintage, it looks brand new. I have had it probably 20 years and didn't know what it was until now.
