From the Marquet Company Hand-Crafted Tree Friends series. Set of three hand-made pigs in assorted colors. Includes a unique, hand-crafted gift box that originally came with the set. The gift box has a turquoise cover and string tie adorned with a wooden goldfish. Marquet paperwork also included.

Made from repurposed paper only. The paper is rolled, dyed, and hand woven into the animal shape. Each pig measures a little over two inches. A gold string chain is attached for optional hanging.

The Marquet Company repurposes used paper into animal, insect, and flower shapes. The company was started in a poor neighborhood in Bangkok, Thailand. They currently employ about 30 women. Most of the women are single mothers or from low-income households. In 2003, Marquet was honored at the World Fair Trade Organization Biennial Conference.
