The size is approximately 14.5" x 11". I believe it is a base metal (was silver colored originally) I sprayed with gold paint two decades ago. The art is incised with what seems like art nouveau motif (characterized by intricate linear designs and flowing curves based on natural forms). I found one similar on the web which reads: "The stamp on the back: JS&SB, indicates that the tray was produced by Joseph Sankey & Sons Ltd. Since the company seems to have stopped production in 1932, this tray is likely to be from before 1932." I can't see a stamp on the back of mine but it does look identical (see last photo of theirs). Theirs is brass but mine is not. I have included a photo of the back of mine also (which I did not spray paint).
