Incredible indestructible wire mesh on it which will last a lifetime! Re-purpose? Seems impervious to weather. European made in Holland (I've never seen anything like it before!) Will last forever! Could be re-purposed ~ unusual and rare. Antique European single bed from the 1950's. Made by a famous design company in Holland (in Den Haag) called Lemafa. 78 x 34 You would have to see the springs on this bed to really appreciate the workmanship involved.
This is a very special 'woven wire' type bed. Selling our antique European metal 'legs folding' bed ~ single person size. The legs fold. The top back part sicking out does not fold.
According to an expert on antique beds, "Woven wire mattresses became popular in the US in the late 1800s. They were simply called woven wire mattresses and were used extensively in folding cabinet beds and camping beds.
The hollow pipe construction of the frame is definitely 20th century."
Here are the measurements on it: width of the frame is 33 3/4" ~ The metal wire mesh part only is 31 1/2.
The length is 78" ~ the wire mesh part alone is 73".
The metal frame to the floor (swing out legs) is 16". The back part is 8 1/2 inches tall from the frame.
The last photo shows the price of what two Lemafa chairs in Holland are selling for today in Euros.
I love when things are well made to last a lifetime!
