Hand Painted Pedestal Dish ~ Reticulated Lusterware -
Excellent condition ~ Lefton China 8" diameter
Most likely from the 50's (has been in my family since) ~ 5 inches high, 8 inches across. A crackled, iridescent 'rainbow' finish (this is called Lusterware). Open weave cutwork (reticulated, lattice) on the edge. Vintage hand painted (made in Japan). This is the famous and highly collectible Lefton China. George Lefton was called the 'China King'. This is a beautiful delicate and very regal piece.
Gold accents and it shimmers with an opalescence (called lusterware). It is in perfect condition, beautiful scallops on top, gold band on the perimeter of the top and the bottom.
Fenton did not start using molded marks in their glass until the 1970’s. The majority of Fenton was only marked with a sticker. Most of the stickers have been lost or removed over time.
