This is a Hepplewhite Serpentine Sideboard from the Historical James River Plantations Collection by Hickory Chair Co.
This piece represents the “Golden Era” of NC manufacturing (circa early 1990s).
56-Inch Scale: Perfect for dining rooms, foyers or as a sophisticated hall piece.
Documented: Original hand-stamped James River Plantations branding. The “Lot 1” signifies the first production cutting of this specific design.
“Amber” Mahogany Finish: A breakthrough finish introduced in the late 80s showcase the natural glow of premium crotch mahogany veneers and delicate inlays.
The Original Key: The lock turn smoothly providing secure storage.
Solid Brass Gallery: Includes the original, and removable, brass gallery rail which is often missing from these pieces. This sideboard can be displayed with the gallery for a stately, traditional look. If the gallery is removed, it has a sleeker appearance.
Condition: Showroom quality. The top features a crystal-clear mirror finish with zero clouding, water rings, or sun damage.
Construction: Solid mahogany and premium veneers with elegant, tapered legs, and fine pin-stripe inlay. Quality inside and out featuring traditional English dovetail joints.
Dimensions: 56”W x 23”D x 39"H (Gallery adds approx. 7” to total height).
Origin: Proudly handcrafted in Hickory, North Carolina
I am looking for a buyer who appreciates the beauty and quality of this impressive Hickory Chair Co. sideboard.
