Ornately carved frame of I believe is walnut wood. I am told it might be as old as from 1860 (by antique furniture experts.) One of the legs was broken so I cut down the 3 other ones to make a low to the ground chair (as many people prefer 'low to the ground' chairs.) These are selling for thousands of dollars on the web.
