condition: good
The Weiman mark is underneath the drawer. The top of this console is not attached. It is an antique top I have had forever and decided to use it on top of this console I purchased without a top as I loved it so much. I can sell the top and the bottom separately if you want to put a different top on it. Made by a famous company. The top is 17.5" wide at widest part and 34.75" long at longest part and is solid wood 3/4" thick. The console is 30.25" tall (with that top on it). There is a special detail on both front legs. There are bronze/brass caps on all 4 legs. The drawer is 21 x 10.5 inches at the widest. The drawer has a unique slide system. Beautiful detail in the front of the console. (p.s. please note that the light is hitting the front in the first photos and shows it as dappled but it is not dappled.) Has two metal tabs on the back to be able to fasten it to a wall so it does not budge. Made by famous Weiman furniture (it is a marked piece). Weiman left an indelible mark on the history of American furniture manufacturing as a leader in mid-century modern design. Its high-quality work included fabric upholstered and on-trend sofas, chaise longues and lounge chairs. Weiman also created many beautiful solid wood pieces, like side tables and end tables full of charm and character.
"Weiman came onto the American furniture scene in 1935 in Rockford, Illinois, a city known for its furniture manufacturing industry. Weiman expanded in 1941 with the construction of a large factory. According to Rockford Streamlined, it was “one of the very finest factories in all the world of furniture.” While it industrialized its manufacturing processes, Weiman continued to focus on heirloom quality pieces with excellent craftsmanship."
