Well made and chip resistant. This item is a white stoneware teapot made by the brand Crown Stoneware. It is microwave, oven safe and dishwasher safe, a common feature for Crown Stoneware products. Six cup size. This is a famous, well known brand with a great reputation. Resists chipping. In perfect condition. Crown Potteries in Evansville was produced from the late 1800s to the 1950s. It first came from an outgrowth of Bennighof-Uhl Potteries Company which were the successors of the Evansville Pottery Company founded in 1879. The Crown Potteries Company was incorporated in 1902 and was one of the leading industries in Evansville at the time. Stoneware is a clay that when fired to maturity becomes a sturdy, chip resistant material suitable for using in cooking, baking, storing liquids, as serving dishes and to use in the garden. These pieces are meant to be used due to their durability.
