Ikat is the hardest weaving technique in the world. Size is about 20 x 34. This exquisite silk ikat was purchased by me about 40 years ago (and it was already old then!) when I lived in India and became fascinated with the technique of making ikats and the arduous process of how it is made. This particular piece has rabbits and birds. And that exquisite blue geometric band! A rare piece. Some gold threads bands also. Please note that it is not a perfect piece and does have some tiny holes where there was stitching. A wonderful wall decor piece for someone who appreciates arduous antique fiber arts.
