When a car makes it 234,000 miles and still runs smooth as silk, you know it’s good. I intended to drive this car until it dies but it seemingly never will (probably because I maintain it so well)! I am replacing it with an AWD Mazda 3 because I want great handling more than the straight-line smoothness that this Ford Fusion provides. This car runs on Flex Fuel, which is great. It burns cleaner, costs up to sixty cents a gallon less than regular, and carries an octane rating over 100. The car usually gets 25 mph overall.

I am the second owner, the first being a female nurse who sold it at 141,000 miles, took great care of the car and kept it in a garage (as I have most of its life). I have stayed current with maintenance, performing most of it myself, and have records to prove it. The suspension is in such good shape that I recently received a tire warranty payout, which is evidence that I kept the rotation current and the wear on the tires was even. The current Firestone tires are roughly 2,000 miles old. The brakes are good and remarkably low maintenance.

The six-speed transmission – probably the best I’ve ever experienced – performs flawlessly and always has. The fluid was changed about 20,000 miles ago. The powerful 3.0 V6 is amazing and performs highway passes before you know it. It does leak oil at a minimal rate, the evidence of which I can show you in front of my house. It appears to be two drops a day. This alarmed me until the Valvoline oil place manager assured me this is normal for this engine, the same one that powers his high-mileage Ford Explorer. I have used only synthetic oil of this Fusion and usually changed it before 8,000 miles (and most recently about 500 miles ago).

The interior is in amazing shape for its high mileage and includes heated power leather seats with lumbar support. It is a very quiet ride, and it is pre-wired for high-quality aftermarket audio options and features special sound dampening and door speaker backing for optimum sound. The leather interior offers multiple ambient lighting options dual power seats, and built-in blind spot mirrors. The A/C has always cranked very cold, with dual climate controls, and zero maintenance needed.

The exterior is in very good shape for a car of this mileage, and the paint has been expertly maintained. The main flaw in this car is the front passenger side, from hitting a deer at about 30 mph. The thing flipped over and promptly ran away without providing his insurance information. I made stop-gap repairs but the headlight housing and bumper could use replacing, along with the windshield fluid reservoir. The car’s alignment is (and was) still perfect, and it passed inspection even with the deer damage. The rear bumper was replaced about a year ago due to a lady backing into it in a cul-de-sac. The sole effect of that is it looks perfect now.

This car comes with a remote starter on the keychain, two key fobs with remote locks, and a trunk release button. Also included is perfectly installed and durable window tinting of varying shades from front to back, and a custom fit, high-quality cover. The car has received a full exterior and interior detail, finished with a ceramic-based Adam's wax in April 2024.
