Restoration Hardware Prost Shot-Glass Chess Set - $110 (Cullowhee/Glenville/Cashiers)

For sale is the Prost Chess Set from Restoration Hardware. Restoration Hardware — now commonly known as RH, is an upscale American home-furnishings retailer. RH, however, has discontinued selling this chess set, so a complete set (like this one) has become quite rare.
This chess set is a clever twist on the classic game of strategy and cunning. Instead of traditional chess pieces, the set uses 32 shot glasses, each representing a different piece, played on a glass chessboard.
Fill up the pieces with two contrasting-color wines or liqueurs, and start your game. If a player captures any piece of the opposing player, s/he is obligated to drink the beverage inside. Hence, the game gets more interesting as it goes on -- with game advantage shifting quickly from the better player to the poorer player!
All 32 thick-glass shot glasses are in excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
The large and very heavy board is solid glass, approximately 19 ½" square.
The generously-sized game squares are approximately 2 1/4" square.
The king and the queen are approximately 4 1/4 " tall.
The set comes in its original, very sturdy and elegant red box. All together, this set is too heavy and too precious to ship, and that's why I require local pickup from me.
The danger — as the players become tipsy — is that a shot glass or even the glass board may suffer damage or destruction. For this reason, I originally purchased a second set which was complete — board and pieces -- with the exception of one glass. I felt that this way I would have replacements pieces, just in case. I can let you have the second set for only $30 more.
This set can be used as a serious chess set, a drinking game for parties, a collectible, or a magnificent attention grabber.

Sale is 'CASH & CARRY,' that is, I accept only exact-amount greenback cash (and only twenties, because I've been ripped off before). For greater clarity: no checks of any kind, no wire transfers, no financing, no layaway/holding, and I have no facility to take credit/debit cards or to make change.
And you must come to my place and remove the set from my home. You must also bring your own packing materials to protect the set during transport.
The set is sold "AS IS," and the sale is FINAL (no returns or refunds).
