Used originally as a baby carrier. Long Piece. Vintage or Antique ~ stylized Phoenix birds. Signed by artist. Large ~ 35" x 78" thinner cotton, signed by artist. I purchased this 50 years ago when I was living on the Island of Bali. Very colorful piece. It was already vintage/antique when I purchased it 50 years ago (I bought it pre-owned). Colorful, beautiful piece with strong colors even after zillions of washings! These were initially intended to be worn around the waist during the many religious Bali ceremonies and also to carry a baby. Vintage or Antique ~ stylized Phoenix birds. Signed by artist. Large ~ 35" x 78" on thinner 100 percent cotton. It has the signature of the artist. on it. I purchased this 50 years ago when I was living on the Island of Bali. Very colorful piece. These were initially intended to be worn around the waist during the many religious Bali ceremonies and also to carry a baby, etc. It is unusual piece the likes of which I've never seen (and I have seen and own a LOT of Indonesian batiks!) If you like phoenix birds as I do, this piece might be for you! Please note that is is antique and not new so more delicate than a strong cloth. One end is the mirror image of the other end. There is a slight rip at one of the ends (which has the colorful end bands of vertical lines)). Used by some women to carry their babies.
