Thick and Warm ~ Great condition! 3/4 Length Sleeves. Made by (the tag reads: Mary Hawkins, Charleston, South Carolina). No tag as to size but I would say a 'medium'. I believe it is from the 1950's. Two black velvet covered buttons. Black satin lining. Two large pockets. Beautiful, shiny black faux Karakul Fur. Well made. The color IS a black black although my close ups show it more gray. Measurements: Length from mid collar measuring to the end of the jacket is 27"; measuring across the back from hem of shoulder sleeve to other shoulder sleeve hem is about 15.5"; measuring sides from undersleeve to bottom of garment is 15"; the bottom 'flares' to 54". The two buttons originally had the old style 'material' closures on the edge of the other side (that loop around the buttons) (which you can still see traces of) but these are no longer functioning ~ Can easily be replaces with new ones. The buttons can also be moved to accommodate them ~ or jacket can be left open and buttons removed.
The velvet on the buttons is a bit frayed (see photo) and there is a bit of fraying (you have to look hard to see it) under one of the pockets. The black satin lining inside is intact (although the undersleeves have been hand stitched back together.
All in all, in great shape for its age!
