condition: excellent
An extremely detailed book covering all areas of American life from 1900 to 1942. Old black & white photos and vintage color advertising is used to illustrate all topics covered. Each chapter spans five years, beginning with 1900 through 1905, then 1905 through 1910, etc. The final chapter spans seven years, covering 1935 through 1942.

Hardcover. Published 1967. Contains 288 pages.

Covers the Turn of the Century, the Great Depression, the Roaring Twenties, Radio's Golden Age, Factory Life, High Society, Literary Life, the Silver Screen, Comic Strip Heroes, the Funnies, the Age of Vaudeville, the Gibson Girls, the Ziegfeld Follies, the American Automobile, the First Flight, Old-Time Baseball and the National League, the First World Series, the Vanderbilt Cup, and the Most Memorable Era in Boxing, Also covers architecture, clothing, music, dance, theater, and so much more.

A wonderful, colorful, and informative vintage book for anyone interested in history or Americana. Condition is excellent, especially considering this book is over 50 years old. It did get a little wet once because we were showing it outside just as it began to rain, so there is very slight water damage. The water damage is very subtle and doesn't affect the charm of the book in any way. Would make a great gift. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions. Thank you!
