This powerful and elaborate statue captures Ganesha in a majestic seated posture, regally poised atop his vahana (vehicle), the mouse, symbolizing humility and the ability to reach even the smallest corners of the world. In this case, a small elephant riding on a large mouse!
With four arms, Lord Ganesha holds sacred attributes: a broken tusk, a goad (to spur spiritual seekers onward), a sweet (symbol of the rewards of spiritual practice), and a hand in abhaya mudra (the gesture of protection and reassurance). His iconic elephant head signifies wisdom, understanding, and a discriminating intellect. I leave you to research how Ganesha acquired the head of an elephant!
A grand circular prabhavali (radiant arch) frames the deity in divine light and energy. This element also serves as a celestial gateway — a spiritual portal between the earthly realm and the divine.
