Sitzendorfer Porzellanfabrik - Gebruder Voigt - Small Vase With Roses

Manufactured 1884 - 1902

This beautiful small antique vase is a beautiful and rare example of late 1800’s Victorian era German porcelain from the Sitzendorf porcelain factory.

In the late 1800’s, the Sitzendorf factory, led by Alfred and Carl Wilhelm Voight primarily produced porcelain figurines in the lace “Dresden” style, making this delicate vase a rare Sitzendorf item for that era.

Design:

The white vase with flared neck and “S” shaped handles is decorated with hand-applied roses, leaves and vines. There are 4 blossoms on each side edged in either soft pastel pink, yellow or orangerie color. The roses are nestled among leaf laden stems, the leaves gradients of light to dark green and the vines in hues of light brown. The collar base is decorated with a pristine gold band. The 3-D applied decoration is masterfully detailed.

Size:

This ornate Sizendorfer vase is 4 inches tall and 3.75 inches in diameter including the 2 handles.

Condition:

The vase is in excellent cosmetic condition. There are no cracks, chips, or repairs. The delicate sculpted roses are lovely and the high quality glaze is smooth and lustrous. The hand painting is subtle with pastel flowers, rich green leaves and natural vines. The underside of the base has some wear.

Inscription & Marks

On the underside of the base is an underglaze blue hand-painted angled crossed lines mark. The number "62." is also on the underside next to the crossed lines mark.

This lovely, unique vase is charming and would make a wonderful addition to any porcelain collection.
