Most likely from the 1940's. Would make a nice picture frame also. When I got it about 25 years ago, it had weeds and seeds and such pressed into it ~ it was a type of folk art from those times. (Photos of that included) ~ It came apart from age and I still have the fluff that was it there and you can have it to redo it as it was, if you so choose. It has two handles (I think might be bamboo?) which have metal bits to hold the handles. The 'fluff' that came with this antique tray is 'as good as new'! Amazing how some things just stay the same with decades!
Has a 'ledge' underneath to affix glass or wood or whatever you choose there. Would make a nice tray or could be used as a picture/photo frame for your wall. So unusual! The size is 19.25 x 13.25 and it appears to be comprised of 1.5" of solid wood in 8 pieces. Has a 3/8" lip on the bottom which is 1.25" down the wood for holding whatever you want to put there. The last two image shows what the insides looked like 80 years ago. p.s. I can include 'the fluff' that came with it and it looks as good as when this item was made! Check out the last photo I found on the web! They are asking for almost $400 for this type of tray (includes glass, I guess, and in better condition)?
