The conservation kit includes a showerhead, a kitchen faucet aerator, and two bathroom faucet aerators. The showerhead is an AM Conservation Group adjustable spray showerhead. The kitchen faucet aerator is a 50% maximum flow savings aerator. The bathroom faucet aerators are Masco aerators with 2.0 GPM maximum flow.
The kit also includes two toilet tank leak protector tablets with instructions. A leaky toilet tank is one of the most common causes of water loss in the home. Diagnosing a leaky toilet tank can save thousands of gallons of water each year. Simply drop one of the tablets into the water tank and wait a few minutes. If there is a leak, blue dye will seep into the toilet bowl. The tablets are safe and non-toxic.
One small and one medium neoprene faucet bibb washer is also included in the kit. A dripping outdoor faucet or even a small leak from a hose bibb can waste hundreds of gallons of water, resulting in higher water bills. Over time, outdoor faucets may begin to drip or leak around the handle. Replacing an old or dried out rubber bibb washer inside the faucet will often alleviate or solve the problem.
The final item in the kit is a roll of faucet thread sealing tape. This tape is used to create a tight seal, so that water doesn't leak out. It is often used when replacing shower heads, for sealing threads between garden hose connections, and for sealing threads on toilet tanks to prevent leaking.
