Looking for two individuals interested in community outreach and volunteering. A proposition for a half-hour radio show on 103.5 LPFM, MAIN/ WPVM is underway. The two volunteers will participate with the show producer in either researching pertinent stories that affect the Hispanic community, most importantly in a local level, announcements about events for the latino community in Asheville, and prospective candidates for interviews. Though the program is in Spanish, the volunteers need not be native or non-native Spanish speakers, though it is preferred. You will not be on air if you don't feel comfortable. The show will run more smoothly with committed individuals who will take this project seriously. A six month commitment would be ideal. The overall work time for this project is estimated at five hours a week (that's an overestimate considering the level of experience involved) spread out throughout the week prior to the broadcast. If you have experience with radio, sound production, good organizational skills, and have an passion for service and wish to apply to this endeavor, contact LuLa by replying to the posting. Lack of experience is not a deterrent; lack of motivation or commitment is.
