At 5000', our Alpine-style condo chalet is located atop Beech Mountain in the North Carolina Mountains only 1/2 mile from Ski Beech. Built circa 1905, is an imposing two-and-half story gable-roof frame home which effectively combines traditional and modern elements. The home was built for/by the Cozad family who owned a substantial tract in Andrews early in the twentieth century. Developer and builder, Cozad erected several large gracious homes in the area. In 1918 The Cozad House was sold to Samuel Cover of F. P. Cover & Sons Tannery. He made some modifications to the rear of the home, which may have been sun porches, which later became part of upstairs bedroom and, in 1938, a bathroom. It remained in the Cover family until the death of Frances Cover in 1999.
Located near the sleepy downtown of Andrews, North Carolina, today this charming bed and breakfast offers the old small-town flavor now all but lost in America. Our guests are surrounded by style, furniture and collectibles from another era. What fun to just browse around the house at your leisure looking at the many accents your hosts have collected. There are views from the large porch of the manicured grounds and distant mountains. Spread a blanket under one of the massive oaks and imagine how life was in the early 1900s when this home was constructed.

There's a screened-in porch off of master b/r and back deck. The great room and back deck has a view of the Grandfather Mtn. Range, Tablerock and Shortoff Mtns. of the Linville Gorge. There's a nice gas grill and table and chairs on the back deck. The front porch features a ramp and all bedrooms on first floor allow for handicapped accessibility.
The decor is true log cabin style with a deer, bear, fish theme. In the summer, you get full use of the pool, jacuzzi and bathhouse by the lake. This was our second visit and we love it here! It’s such a relaxing escape from our busy lives and a perfect get away to nature with all the comforts of home! Some of things we enjoyed the most:
The clean comfortable, thoughtfully appointed Cabins with plenty of privacy. Relaxing fishing just steps away from the Cabin porch. Waking early to watch the geese and ducks fly over the river with the morning mist to on the river and mountains.
With everything there is to do in Asheville we find it hard to leave the Cabin! We’ll definitely be back! Thank you for your hospitality!
