Mother's Day out type program from August 15th on. Hello! A few months ago I came to live on an organic farm, with a massage therapist/holistic gardener for a landlord. We farm three gardens, a greenhouse, and will soon be getting some chickens. I've been looking into nannying for someone in town but I think that would be a miss for the children.
So I am offering myself and the lessons the earth has to teach.
I can take children from infant to school age, as long as they're willing to learn.
The days would consist of learning how to grow organic vegetables, care for the land, what's poisonous and what's edible, how to make simple natural medicine, be kind to animals (three dogs here and a cat that's never out) then harvest and cook what we've grown. Snacks would be fed from the gardens when possible. There's also an art room here, with plenty of paint, markers and paper. Instruments of the hand held kind are scattered everywhere.
Outdoors, there's plenty of open space to run and play as we're situated on top of a ridge. Its very safe here in the country, on our dead end road.
Your children would spend very little time, if any, in front of the tv. I believe in growing up outside, as I was able to do. Here it would be a joyful experience, safe and nurtured.

About me: I'm 22 but a very old soul. I have no children of my own and though that pains me, it makes me a very good caregiver. I don't spank. I don't yell. If your child is naughty he/she gets punished by remaining inside. I've lived in the Asheville area since March. Florida before that and Chicago before that, where I am from. I have no criminal history. I have cared for children for 10 years, from newborns to 14 year-olds and I have a special way with toddlers. There are two other women here, who would take more passive roles in the care. The landlord and mother of this whole experience, Meg, teaches me and I teach your child. My partner, Tania, would be the one teaching art and music.

Our charges would depend on your situation. This is day care, available from 10 am to 7 pm. You drop off and pick up but that's negotiable. We can take a max of 4 children here. Its not formal, its not a business. We're 3 women with no children and a space that children would love. It just made sense to invite them here.

We live in West Asheville and have one child who will soon be 8 years old. We are looking to exchange housing for child care. We live about two blocks from the West End Bakery. We have one bedroom available in the downstairs area of our house which is separate from our main living area. Also in the downstairs area is a kitchen and living space.
