I'm humbly seeking a landlord or property management company who can work with an individual with shattered credit/previous eviction. Prior to the eviction for non-payment of rent in early 2009, I had 18 months residence at that address (though with late rent as I struggled) and 4 years of solid rental history at my two previous addresses. Finished grad school and have obtained my first position to start full-time as soon as I find a perm residence. Flexible move in date anytime between now and February... larger deposit requirements will only be possible in February.

My requests are a 2 bedroom (I must have a dedicated home office for my position; though no clients will be seen in home) in a SAFE neighborhood that can receive broadband or DSL internet (my own subscription, of course). I work in healthcare so the satellite internet feeds won't be reliable enough for my needs at this time. I'm particularly seeking a solidly built upper unit, a ground floor end unit, or a single family place as my schedule might keep odd hours and don't want to disturb the neighbors if I need to wash clothes at 3 AM on a Tuesday.

I do have a small cat, regularly vetted with shots. I am non-smoking, very clean, mostly quiet other than the aforementioned odd hours, have signed a contract with a new position, can provide you with a clean criminal background check, employment references, past rental references (positive and the negative if requested), personal references, vet references, and confirmation of my student status up until 2009.

I have a volunteer committment in Buncombe County and will work in Haywood County as well as others to the west of Haywood at times. As such, I prefer to remain closer to the Haywood side of Buncombe but will consider all opportunities. Similarly, Jackson County opportunities would benefit me more if they are closer to the Sylva side of the area. I will consider any lease term but prefer a long term lease; especially if unfurnished property is leased.

I will consider sublets (not lease transfers as apartments will likely not approve my application) and month to month seasonal rentals as long as you can agree to offer a rental reference for me to help with my next place at the close of our agreement. My absolute max rent is $1000 a month but cheaper is better as I begin to try and rebuild my finances. I am unable to consider shares at this time due to the nature of the work I will be handling at home; per my contract with regard for medical records.

Our situation: My wife and I live in Santa Fe NM. We visited Asheville to consult a cardiology specialist on my wife's heart/adrenal condition and related multiple environmental sensitivities especially to mold and chemicals. After stringent cardiac tests 3 weeks ago, my wife suffered a setback which has necessitated our staying in Asheville perhaps for one or two months, according to her physician, before she regains enough strength for us to return home.

Our ideal requirements: We want to move from our hotel to a quiet, furnished, preferably 2 bedroom house. Ideally it would be situated outside Asheville's wireless area, no mold or mustiness, with no chemical pesticides, animals or recent construction because of the outgassing. Internet/cable access would be preferable. We wish to rent on a weekly/monthly basis so we can keep our options open depending on her recovery period. Rent open for discussion.
