Throughout the resident’s experience at CooperRiis, the RC is also remaining in close contact with the resident’s family. The goal is not to accommodate families but to educate, engage and empower families. In addition to the full Family Education Program conducted by the CooperRiis Program Director, the RC in conjunction with other team members will allow for individualized discussion with family members about the progress of their Resident family member. The RC will give the family regular updates about their family member, about the nature of their recovery, diagnosis, treatment strategies, and also develop interventions for the family. This process reduces the chance that the family will need to be “brought on board” late in the process. They will have been a part of the collaborative process throughout. The increased family contact will provide education, collaboration, and allow for a “red flag” if there are problems, long before transition.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The RC will:
1. Fulfill the specific duties described in “CooperRiis is an Enhanced Recovery Program.
2. Develop a trusting relationship with each new resident assigned to him or her.
3. Develop a respectful relationship with their resident’s family members, focused on building effective two-way communication.
4. Develop the resident’s Recovery Team into a true team, assuring that each member is informed, engaged and working in concert on behalf of the resident.
5. Facilitate the initial assessment of the resident’s needs by the relevant professional CooperRiis staff.
6. Guide and empower the resident in devising and articulating their personal Recovery Plan, including assisting with its revision over time.
7. Monitor and facilitate Plan implementation.
8. Prepare for and facilitate periodic Planning Meetings with the resident and their Recovery Team.
9. Attend other meetings as needed.
10. Be mutually supportive of the work of other RC’s, maximizing teamwork where possible.
11. Contribute his or her personal expertise to RC colleagues, guiding and training them as assigned by the Person-Centered Recovery Planning Director.
12. Work from a strength based, not a deficit based outlook.
13. Document the Recovery Plan and assure that all Recovery Team members are adding their observations and documentation on the approved forms and/or directly into the resident’s electronic record on the NextStep database.
14. Coordinate the resident’s daily program continuously rather than through periodic course adjustments. Expectations are voiced throughout the process without surprises to the resident.
15. Take on other tasks as assigned by the Person-Centered Recovery Planning Director.

Key Responsibilities:
o Provides occupational therapy services according to departmental and professional standards of care.
o Participates in the education of staff, students and volunteers by sharing responsibility for both the numbers of requests and quality of feedback from participants.
o Participates with program development and implementation as determined by departmental needs.
o Participation in interdisciplinary team meetings/clinics as indicated by department/organization needs.
o Participates in PI activities by maintaining acceptable level of personal achievement and assisting with data collection and analysis.

Develop and implement a rehabilitation program consistent with the physician’s Plan on Treatment.
Confer with physician and clinical team members to obtain additional patient information and assist in developing, implementing and revising the therapy treatment program and Plan of Treatment.
Oversee, supervise, educate and evaluate Physical Therapy Assistants’ performance in implementing physical therapy services.
Provide hands-on care, case management and evaluation of the care plan, and education of the patient utilizing care notes.
Has the autonomy to make individualized patient-centered decisions for optimal clinical care.
This position requires a Licensed Therapist (LCSW, LPC) who specializes in the treatment of Eating Disorders and Addictions and has a passion for this population.
REQUIREMENTS:
Licensed Therapist, Experience working with Eating Disorder Population, CEDS (Preferred), EMDR Certification (Preferred), DBT Experience.
