Several Drawing and Painting classes are beginning as soon as enrollment is filled.


'Drawing the Human Figure' Will be a six week course with one three hour session each week. We will have a live nude model for each class and draw from life for the duration of the three hours. European renaissance techniques that will be covered include: Gesture Drawing, Contour, Blind Contour, Cross Hatching, and Cross Contour.

'Painting the Figure' Will be a six week course with one three hour session each week. Using oil paint (or your preference of painting medium) we will observe and paint the human form by studying a live nude model each week. This class will have an emphasis on 'Alla Prima Painting' and focus on completing multiple small studies rather than large scale––long term paintings. Alla Prima paintings are called such because they are finished quickly and in one sitting.

'Still Life Painting' Will also be a six week course with one three hour session each week. Using oil paint (or your preference of painting medium) we will paint from a selection of still lifes and focus on completing fast small scale 'Prima' paintings. A materials list for this class will be mailed out to all those interested.
